Fourslide Metal Stamping
Why a Four slide part???
The industry of four slide metal stamping has grown rapidly and, where possible, has replaced other metal forming processes like die casting, forging and machining for several reasons.
The primary reason for this change is cost effectiveness in deploying the stamping process. The dies used in metal forging and casting are more expensive than those used in four slide metal stamping.
Basically in four slide stamping, slide tools glide into the metal blank from four directions at right angles to one another, bending the metal around a vertical mandrel. The slide forming area uses mechanically timed mechanisms to regulate slide movement. This allows four slides to produce complex parts with multiple bends.
At Century Spring Manufacturing, our four slide stamping machines are precise and highly versatile, reducing production time while maintaining quality.
Fourslide Tooling costs less than Progressive Die Tooling. Complex forming operations that can’t be completed with expensive secondary operations can be formed easily on a four slide. Our four slide stamping process incorporates horizontal die applications from multiple directions and a range of motions, either simultaneously or successively. The result is stamping in a singular, efficient process.
The process integrates stamping and forming operations to create stamped parts from strips and wires. We use stock or custom metal strips of steel, copper, aluminum, bronze, and others to create small, intricate parts.
Each four slide part, like so many other wire and metal parts, are unique in their nature. We at Century Spring Manufacturing will make every effort to evaluate your needs and advise you up front on what is involved in your project and we will quote you a competitive price for quality developed over our 25 year history.
